Customization / Wallpaper / Abstract

Hey I loved the look of some of these sunset shots, so I tried my hand at cobbling together my own. Most of what I submit is things I try for the first time, and this is no exception. PLEASE any tips / criticism is much appreciated!

Also, this is a straight rip from my gnome-look account (they only allow you to UPLOAD one file to download, the others have to be located elsewhere, hence my joining deviant), and as you may have noticed my three submissions are basically equal just different variations of the piece. Is there any way to just submit one file and have two alternate downloads for it? Comments and help greatly appreciated.!

CHANGELOG:

1.1b - Fix Screenshot

1.2b - WOW! Read a tut on Rubasu's website for touching up some photos by adding a screen layer and it really brightened up this wallpaper.

1.5 - After much consideration, I decided to remove the star scene - it didn't seem to match the hard, bold lines of the rest of the wallpaper. If anyone requests it, I can repost it with that though. I also became familiar with the "Unsharpen Mask" and cleaned up a few of the pixel-ised brushes due to the image size. Everything looks a bit sharper and cleaner now

1.7 - From request on gnome-look, added two different themes, blue and human. I think I mucked up a bit on the human theme, and i'm not very happy with the blue one, any crits are welcome and encouraged! PLEASE comment!

1.8 - God damn it... of course as soon as I submit the wallpaper, I realize a glaring error in both the human and blue variations. Fixed the sky effect on both of them... Curse you 1 am gimping!

Hi there! We are working on a new Linux distribution and we are very interested in this wallpaper for our first release.
I wanted to ask you for something, that came to my mind: I'd like to have 3 versions of this image:
1. Only the black ground and the sunset (no trees, no white flowers, no swirling lines)
2. Black ground, sunset and the black trees
3. The one we can see here.
My idea is to use 1 as boot image, 2 as login image and 3 as desktop wallpaper.
Perhaps you still have these 3 different versions and you want to help us. Would be great, thanks in advance!

this one and the purplish one are better than the yellows. But (yes there is a big BUT there)

Thanks so much! Yeah that's how I feel too. The blue and human themes were requests from someone else, and I wish I had made it a bit better... Oh well I like how they all turned out! :-D Thanks for the interest
